McKENZIE RETURNS TO JACKALS
The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, announced today that right wing Jim McKenzie has been reassigned to the Jackals by the Ottawa (NHL) Senators from their American Hockey League affiliate in Binghamton. McKenzie is scheduled to meet Elmira in Reading for tonight’s 6:35 p.m. contest against the Royals.

JOYAL RELEASED BY JACKALS
The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, announced today that goaltender Maxime Joyal has been released by the club. Joyal had been serving in the capacity of the team’s emergency back-up since a November 29th ankle injury to Dan LaCosta knocked him out of the Jackals line-up.

FAUBERT NETS TWO AS JACKALS CLOSE OUT 2007 WITH ROAD WIN
A three-goal third period lifted the Elmira Jackals to a 5-2 road win New Year’s Eve over the Johnstown Chiefs in front of 3,821 fans at the Cambria County War Memorial. The win kept the Jackals three points behind first place Cincinnati in the North Division and extended Elmira’s regulation road unbeaten streak to eight games (6-0-1-1).

FOUR-GOAL THIRD STOPS STREAKING JACKALS 5-1
Scott Reynolds’ shorthanded goal thirty-four seconds into the third period broke a 1-1 tie and propelled the Cincinnati Cyclones to a 5-1 win over the Elmira Jackals before the seventh sellout of the season with 4,181 fans at First Arena. The loss dropped the Jackals three points behind the Cyclones in the North Division race.

JACKALS SLIP PAST DEVILS IN SHOOTOUT 4-3
Luke Fulghum scored once in regulation and netted the only goal in the shootout as the Elmira Jackals took a 4-3 road win over Trenton in front of 3,036 fans at Sovereign Bank Arena. The win kept the Jackals one point behind division-leading Cincinnati with the two clubs set to meet Saturday night in Elmira and extended the Jackals’ unbeaten streak in regulation to ten games (8-0-1-1).

JACKALS SIGN DEFENSEMAN FROM THE MAHL
The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, announced today that they have signed defenseman Trevor Wolfe to an ECHL contract. JACKALS WIN STREAK ENDS AT SIX IN 4-3 OT LOSS AT READING
Patrick Hersley poked home a loose puck in the slot 1:42 into overtime Wednesday night to give the Reading Royals a 4-3 win over the Elmira Jackals before 4,968 fans at Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania. The win ended the Jackals’ winning streak at six games, but the club remained unbeaten in regulation for a ninth straight contest (7-0-1-1) in taking a one-point lead over idle Cincinnati atop the North Division.

JACKALS DOUBLE UP NAILERS 4-2 TO SWEEP WEEKEND SET
Frank Littlejohn, Benoit Doucet, and Kevin Ulanski scored in a 3:49 span late in the first period to spark the Elmira Jackals to a 4-2 win over the Wheeling Nailers Saturday night in front of 3,118 fans at WesBanco Arena. The win was the club’s sixth in a row and their fourth straight on the road.

Benoit Doucet scored once and set up the game-winner as the Elmira Jackals fended off the Wheeling Nailers Friday night at WesBanco Arena in front of 2,142 fans. The win was Elmira’s fifth in a row and its third in three tries this season against Wheeling.

The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, announced today that defenseman Bryan Rodney has signed an American Hockey League contract with the Albany River Rats and forward Jim McKenzie has been reassigned by Ottawa (NHL) to Binghamton (AHL). Additionally, the Carolina Hurricanes have reassigned defenseman J.D. Forrest from Albany (AHL) to Elmira.

ECHL RECORD SET AS SEVEN JACKALS JOIN AHL’s ALBANY RIVER RATS
The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, announced today that seven players have been loaned to the American Hockey League’s Albany River Rats in what is believed to be an ECHL record for the most players loaned to a single club in one day. With the loan earlier today of Scott May to Binghamton, the Jackals sent eight of their eligible fourteen skaters to the American Hockey League on Saturday.

The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, announced today that center Scott May has been loaned to the American Hockey League’s Binghamton Senators. May’s loan is the Jackals eighth this season of one of their own ECHL-contracted players to the AHL and is May’s second loan to the Senators this year.

The 23-year old had four goals, including three on the power play, three assists and a plus-minus rating of +1 to help the Jackals go 3-0-1 and stay atop the North Division.

Defenseman Bryan Rodney scored twice in regulation and once in the shootout as the Elmira Jackals trimmed the Cincinnati Cyclones 5-4 Saturday night at U.S Bank Arena before 1,554 fans. The win enabled the Jackals to regain a share of first place in the North Division with the Cyclones, each with 32 points.

Holding a 39-21 shots advantage meant little as the Elmira Jackals fell to the Cincinnati Cyclones 2-1 in a shootout Friday night before a crowd of 2,047 at U.S. Bank Arena. The win gave the Cyclones sole possession of first place in North Division by one point over the Jackals.

The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, wrapped up the most ambitious portion of its early season schedule with a pair of games in Ohio last week with a record of 1-1. The win at Dayton and a loss the following night in Cincinnati left the Jackals with a 10-3 record during a 13-game stretch that occurred in just twenty days. The run allowed the Jackals to ascend to the top of the North Division of the American Conference. Idle this weekend, the Jackals were joined at the top of the division by Cincinnati following a pair of wins by the Cyclones Friday and Saturday.
